The single malt that started it all
Founded by George Smith in 1824, The Glenlivet inspired a whole region and laid the foundations for malt whisky from Speyside as we know it today.
Held in as high regard now as it was at the beginning, this sophisticated and definitive single malt whisky has been crafted in the remote Livet Valley since 1824.
The Glenlivet still uses water from Josie’s Well – a natural spring that yields pure mountain water from the dark, peaty earth of Glenlivet. Lantern-shaped copper pot stills, which create The Glenlivet light and elegant character, are also an enduring feature.
The reputation and supreme quality of The Glenlivet have been fiercely preserved by successive generations of whisky-makers who pride themselves on their traditional whisky-making skills.
